I am writing today because God filled me with such gratitude for a small business here in Fort Myers Florida called, Medicab Transportation. Martin and Nicole Ndungu have huge hearts.. if they could reach out and make someone’s life better consider it done and they use Medicab Transportation as a way of doing so. I am an employee here for almost 1 ½ years and here is my story…
On June 1, 2015 I had a stroke and was told that I could not work more than 20 hours a week… I believed that for 1 ½ years. Struggled to find someone to employ me with ‘my limitations’ that I allowed others to place upon me. Then I applied to work here for part time… the draw for me were the hearts of the Owner, Martin Ndungu and his wife Nicole. You see, I had 3 job offers that same week! I had to chose who I wanted to work for and for me it was easy.. I wanted to work with people who ran a business with a heart not with a cold pocketbook. So I said yes!
Within 6 months Martin said to me, I want you to excel not for me but for you! He told me from what he saw, he believed I can overcome and work more hours if I wished to. So I started to work a few more hours a week. See I still believed the lie that I was only able to work 20 hours a week… I was not convinced as Martin was… well to make a long story short.. Martin continued to support me and believe in me even when I could not believe in myself… until he gave me enough confidence to believe.. I can and eventually did do a 40 hour work week! Today there are weeks that I even work overtime! It is amazing what one believes when others put their belief on them… I am very grateful that Martin had the courage, the perseverance and eye to see me and my potential no matter what I believed!
If I owned my own facility or needed transportation services in any way… Medicab Transportation would be the company I would chose because of the heart behind this company. If I can say one thing to someone that has a loved one in need, the heart of Medicab Transportation is real.. it is huge and it is alive! After many years of our elderly taking care of us… it is time we give them the support, love and kindness they deserve.. choose a company with a heart that is real… kindness and belief bring smiles and uplifting moods.
